WATER INNOVATION HUB
The Water Innovation Hub, led by ClimateHaven in partnership with RWA and Xylem, accelerates early-stage water technologies. Startups gain access to funded pilots, real-world testing, and engagement with key stakeholders, bridging innovative solutions to the market and helping strengthen water systems locally and globally.
THE ROLE
The Water Innovation Hub Fellow will support ClimateHaven’s Water Innovation Hub in advancing its mission to accelerate early-stage water technologies. The Fellow will work closely with the Hub team, partners, and startups, contributing to strategic research, pilot execution, and ecosystem engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Research & Analysis
- Map trends in water technology and innovation ecosystems, highlighting potential opportunities and gaps.
- Prepare briefs on faculty research, industry partners, and emerging technologies, working directly with hub partners, Xylem and RWA.
- Maintain and update a pipeline database of startups, emerging technologies, and strategic partners in water tech.
Ecosystem Engagement & Communication
- Support the organization and day-of execution of industry roundtables, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
- Contribute to WaterTech blog posts and thought leadership content.
- Assist in the development of collateral materials, presentations, and reports for internal and external audiences.
Pilot Support
- Support the execution and monitoring of funded pilot projects with innovation challenge awardees.
- Provide operational and research support to help startups validate and scale solutions.
Strategic Initiatives
- Work directly with hub partners, Xylem and RWA, to support strategic initiatives and research projects.
- Identify potential collaborations, partnerships, and funding opportunities.
- Track impact metrics for pilots and initiatives to support reporting and decision-making.
- Assist in developing long-term strategy recommendations for the Hub.
The role will report to ClimateHaven’s Director. This role will be part-time ranging 10-20 hours a week; compensated at $20/hour. The position is primarily in person, with some flexibility for meetings to happen remotely.
THE RIGHT PERSON: You are a motivated, high-energy, creative problem solver with high standards for quality and an interest in water innovation and climate action. Background in water is an advantage but not a requirement. We are open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds and welcome applications from recent graduates, career-changers, and early-career professionals, not just students. - Research & Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to conduct sector research, analyze technical information, and synthesize findings into actionable insights for partnerships, funding, and strategy.
- Organization & Systems Thinking: Highly organized, with the ability to maintain databases, streamline workflows, and set up effective systems in tools like Airtable and SharePoint.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across teams, support programming, and engage with diverse partners and stakeholders.
- Prioritization & Time Management: Capable of managing multiple projects, balancing competing priorities, and delivering on deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-Starter Mentality: Proactive and resourceful, able to take initiative, solve problems independently, and follow through reliably.
