Drew Lipsher

Drew Lipsher’s career has spanned over thirty years of energy transition, media and entertainment,digital media, and technology. His experience has covered all aspects of business including executive management, M&A, strategic planning, new business and corporate development, capitalmarkets, restructurings and divestitures, technology transformation and board level activities.Lipsher has also been a partner in private equity and venture capital. He has worked closely with boards, c-suite executives, and senior management to help set, plan, and execute strategies and objectives.

Lipsher is a highly regarded executive and trusted advisor with a deep understanding of the evolving needs of organizations as technological transformation and more recently energytransition related issues permeate and influence the business landscape.

Lipsher is the co-founder and Managing Partner at Energy Growth Holdings LLC (“EGH”), a strategic investment and operating company actively supporting entities driving the growth in renewable energy infrastructure, the electrification of the economy and power generation and management from a strategic, operating and capital markets perspective.

Most recently, Lipsher served as an independent director of Tortoise Ecofin Acquisition Corp. III(NYSE: TRTL), a blank check company incorporated as a Cayman Islands exempted company for the purpose of effecting a merger, amalgamation, share exchange, asset acquisition, share purchase, reorganization or similar business combination targeting the broad energy transition sector. Lipsher was a member of the Audit Committee and chaired the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Previously, Lipsher was an investor in and the Chief Development Officer of Volta, Inc. (NYSE:VLTA) and over the last year, worked directly with the Interim CEO leading the company through a challenging transition and the successful sale to Shell (NYSE: SHEL) in March 2023. Lipsher primarily focused on capital markets and financing activities as well as finance, cost cutting and strategic priorities. Prior to June of 2022, Lipsher served as the Chief Strategy Officer (July 2016- May 2022) and the Chief Revenue Officer (July 2016 - November 2020) for Volta overseeing the growth and development of the media business as well as leading high-level strategy and initiatives, M&A and partnerships.

Prior to joining Volta, Lipsher served as the Chief Revenue Officer at Glamsquad (a venture backed services business) and previously held senior executive and leadership roles at Clear Channel Media Holdings (parent of the radio and out-of-home advertising businesses), Interscope Geffen A&M Records, News Corporation, BMG Entertainment, and the Warner Music Group. Lipsher was also a Partner at Greycroft Partners, a leading venture capital firm and Maroley Media Group (media and digital media private equity). Lipsher began his career as one of the founders of the New Haven Brewing Company.

Lipsher is a member of the Dean’s Leadership Council at the Yale School of Nursing, helping to support and guide the school’s critical strategic, academic and financial initiatives. Lipsher also serves on the Board of Directors of the Natural Areas Conservancy, an organization dedicated to strengthening the environmental workforce, connecting New Yorkers with nature, and enhancing the health and resilience of New York City’s natural areas.

Lipsher graduated with a B.A. in History from Yale University and received his MBA in finance from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
