our story
Building is hard
2022-2024
In 2022, a group of leaders from Connecticut’s innovation community recognized thechallenge facing climate technology entrepreneurs as they aimed to take technologiesfrom the world class labs of Connecticut’s universities to market. They saw anopportunity to create a community for entrepreneurs – to bring folks together and makethe entrepreneurial journey less hard.
2023-2024
Enter ClimateHaven, which launched in 2023 in New Haven, Connecticut at 770 ChapelStreet. Planting our flag in New Haven was an easy choice. Situated in between Bostonand New York on the Acela line, we found ourselves right off of New Haven’s historictown green, just a few blocks from Yale University.

The doors to ClimateHaven opened in fall 2023, with the Connecticut governor, NewHaven mayor and Yale leaders in attendance. Throughout that first fall, we broughttogether founders from around the region and built a vibrant community of startupsdeeply committed to scaling their climate technologies.
2024-2025
In 2024 and 2025, our community grew, our network of partners grew, and our library ofresources multiplied. Through our work with founders, we were constantly reminded ofone very valuable lesson:Building is hard.
We realized the best way to support the builders in our community is to begin that workat the earliest stages of an entrepreneur’s journey.
We know our location meant that thejourney often started on campus. We committed to helping founders prior toincorporation – as they are mapping their way off campus and into the market. Byhelping founders at this formative stage, we provide them a home and a communityfrom the beginning of their journey and put our might behind helping them achieve theirfirsts – first capital, first hires, and first customers.
oday, we’re proud to an amazing resource for Yale founders and brilliant first timefounders emerging from the Northeast’s most innovative schools. We know we can’tmake building a startup easy, but we’re confident the community we’ve built can make itless hard.
