24 months ago, a group of committed folks embarked upon the mission of creating a world-class community of climate tech entrepreneurs rooted in New Haven, CT. That community–aptly titled ClimateHaven–aimed to attract talented folks from around the city, state, and region.

Time to talk insurance. And I don’t mean the gecko. I’m talking about all the types of insurance your climate tech startup will need to hire folks, lease space, conduct operations, and, last but not least, raise capital!

Building a board isn’t easy. It takes time to find the right members, recruit them, and establish relationships with them. Moreover, board building is a procrastinator’s dream. It feels like one of those things you can put off or, at the very least, a group of people who can get in your way. So why have them there?

Raising money is one thing. Managing the money you raise is another. Strong financial controls can help you manage your funding and give your investors confidence that you – as the audacious climatetech founder – are capable of building an enduring, scalable business.
